Jamie Edmonds Promoted to Chief Technology Officer

We’re delighted to announce the promotion of Jamie Edmonds to the role of Chief Technology Officer at Solsoft, a well-deserved step up for someone who’s been integral to the growth, innovation and culture of our business over the past 17 years.
Jamie’s journey in tech began at Exeter University, where he worked with the admin team before stepping into the rapidly expanding world of managed services. After cutting his teeth at one of Cornwall’s early infrastructure companies – during the dial-up modem era, no less – Jamie joined Solsoft and never looked back. From hands-on engineering to designing complex infrastructures and cloud environments, his experience spans almost every facet of our technical delivery.
What makes Jamie’s promotion so exciting isn’t just his impressive track record, it’s his ability to combine deep technical knowledge with a human touch.
Whether he’s helping a law firm modernise its IT estate or working with schools, manufacturers or charities, Jamie is known for asking: “What’s the dream?” It’s this business and customer-first mindset that’s shaped the way Solsoft delivers technology – not just as a service, but as a strategic enabler for business outcomes.
Taking on the CTO role gives Jamie a chance to step back from day-to-day installations and hands-on work and instead, take a more strategic view of where Solsoft is heading, particularly as AI, cloud and cyber security continue to reshape the IT landscape.
“You can do so much with technology,” Jamie says, “but you can do so much wrong too. My focus now is making sure we’re doing the right things for the right reasons – and planning for what comes next.”
For Jamie, the move is exciting on a business and personal level. “I love it here at Solsoft, but I guess after 17 years that’s a given or I wouldn’t still be here! It’s incredibly fulfilling thanks to the variety, the people and the fact that we get to do such high-end work in a business our size. That’s rare.”
This change also unlocks improvements across the wider business and ensures continuity of our high service standards. Wesley Goodall has been recruited as a dedicated Centralised Services Engineer allowing Nick Packer to work alongside Jamie as a Security and Projects Engineer.
CEO Neil Farnworth adds: “Jamie’s promotion is not just a recognition of his technical expertise, but also of the leadership and insight he brings to the business. He’s been instrumental in helping Solsoft grow and adapt in an ever-changing tech landscape. We’re thrilled to have him leading our technical strategy into the future.”
